Dinner Rolls

  • 1 cup hot water
  • 3 T Crisco (heaping)
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 2 t salt
  • 1 pkg dry yeast in 1/3 cup warm water with 1 t sugar sprinkled on top
  • 3 1/2 - 4 cups flour

Pour hot water over Crisco. Add sugar and salt. Allow to cool until lukewarm. Add yeast mixture. Stir. in about 2 cups flour. Beat with mixer until smooth. Add more flour until dough is as stiff as mixer will take. Knead in remaining flour until dough is elastic. Put dough in greased qawl and let rise until double (about 1 1/2 hours). Punch down and make into rolls. Let rise again until double. Bake at 3750 for about 20 minutes or until lightly browned.
