Kluskis
- 2 cups flour
- 1 egg
- milk
- salt and pepper to taste
Mix ingredients in bowl adding enough milk to make a pasty dough (the consistency of glue paste). Bring a 2 quart pot of water to boiling. Dip a teaspoon into boiling water, then cut 1/2 teaspoon of dough from bowl and place in boiling water. Do this for about 10 Kluskis at a time. Dough will sink to the bottom of the pot and rise to the top when cooked. Dip out and drain in a colander.
This makes a quick replacement for potatoes, rice, or noodles and is an excellent side dish for pork, beef stew, chicken, or any meal which has a thick gravy.
