Patience
- 3 cups sugar
- 1 cup milk
- 1 T Karo
- 2 (or more) cups pecans
Brown 1 cup sugar in heavy skillet until golden brown. At the same time, cook 2 cups sugar with milk and Karo in another saucepan. When sugar in skillet melts, add to saucepan with milk and sugar mixture. Boil until it reaches the soft ball stage. Remove from heat and pour into another bowl. Let cool a little while, then whip until it gets glossy. Add pecans and drop on wax paper (unless it starts to harden – then just pour it all out and cut into squares).
