Spritz

  • 1 cup soft butter
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 t flavoring (vanilla or almond)
  • 2 1/2 cups sifted flour

Mix butter, sugar, egg, and flavoring thoroughly. Stir in flour. Add food coloring if desired. Force the dough through a cookie press onto an ungreased cookie sheet in wreaths or Christmas trees. Bake until set but not brown at 400° (7-10 minutes). Makes about 6 dozen cookies.
