Strawberry-Pretzel Cream
- 2 1/2 cup pretzels (coarsely rolled)
- 3 T powdered sugar
- 3/4 cup butter, melted
- 8 oz cream cheese
- 1 egg
- 1 cup sugar
- 8 oz Cool Whip.
- 2 30z pkgs strawberry Jello
- 2 cups boiling water
- 6-8 ice cubes.
- 1 quart strawberries, halved (when fresh strawberries are unavailable, use one quart frozen strawberries and omit ice)
Mix pretzels, powdered sugar, and butter together and press into 9 x 13" baking dish (glass is pretty). Bake at 350 degrees for 10 minutes. Cool. Beat together cream cheese, egg, sugar and Cool Whip and spread over pretzel layer. Dissolve Jello in hot water, add ice cubes. When thickened, add strawberries and pour over cream cheese. Chill until set.
