Vanilla Cream Pie
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 1/3 cup flour
- 1/4 t salt
- 2 cups milk
- 3 eggs, separated
- 1 t vanilla
- 2 T butter
- Baked pie shell
Mix sugar, flour, and salt thoroughly. Gradually stir in milk and cook over medium heat until thick. Gradually add beaten egg yolks and cook two minutes. Remove from heat and add vanilla and butter. Cool. Pour into pie shell and top with meringue using 3 egg whites. Bananas or coconuts can be used added tor variety.
