Carne Asada (Saddle Blankets)
- 1 gulg of oil or 2 T Crisco
- 1 large onion
- 1 chuck steak (sliced into 1" strips)
- 2 cloves of garlic (or 2 T garlic powder)
- 3 T comino
- 3 T chili powder
- 3 T water
- Salt
Place oil in deep pot and add onions. Fry until onion is clear. Add meat and lower heat to medium. Add seasonings. Cook until meat is browned. Add water and cover, lowering heat. Stir occasionally while cooking for 3/4 hour. Gravy will be created by water and meat juices.
Heat flour tortillas. Spoon two tablespoons of mixture into tortilla and serve immediately.
