Chicken Divan
- 1/3 cup margarine
- 1/3 cup flour
- 1 t salt
- 1/8 T pepper
- 2 cups milk
- 1 cup shredded American cheese
- 1 pkg frozen asparagus (cooked)
- 8-10 slices cooked chicken
- 1 gm jar pimiento
Melt butter in saucepan over low heat. Blend flour and seasonings; add milk, stirring constantly. Cook until sauce is smooth and thick. Add cheese and stir until melted. Layer asparagus and chicken, pouring white sauce over each. Garnish with pimiento. Bake at 375 degrees for 25 minutes until slightly brown.
